Maggie Ginsberg-Schutz
Maggie Ginsberg-Schutz is a full time freelance journalist in Wisconsin and a member of ASJA. She is a regular contributor to Madison Magazine, Isthmus, Midwest Living Magazine and several other regional print publications. She received an award from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association for a 2006 feature on U.S.S. Indianapolis survivor Florian Stamm, and in 2008 she earned two International Regional Magazine Awards for features in Wisconsin Trails Magazine; the Silver for Profiles (“Iditarod Trailblazer”), and the Gold for General Feature (“Mission: Mississippi.”)

She penned the opening chapter of a Department of Commerce-commissioned book on Wisconsin (a frequent giveaway item on Wisconsin Public Radio’s Whad’Ya Know? show) and had a post from her now-defunct personal blog anthologized in the book Kirtsy Takes a Bow: A Celebration of Women’s Online Favorites.
In 2009 she created ViolenceUnSilenced.com, a website committed to giving abuse survivors a voice. Violence UnSilenced incorporated as a non-profit in 2011 with Maggie as its Executive Director.
